Penelope Dearbon is the wife of Richard Dearbon and the mother of Sue Dearbon. After the Black Hole was disbanded, Penelope and her husband were arrested.

Early life[]
At some point, Penelope and Richard Dearbon got married and had a daughter, Sue.
When Sue disappeared, they paid Detective Ralph Dibny to find her.[1]
Anti-Monitor Crisis[]
During the Anti-Monitor Crisis, Penelope as well as everyone in the multiverse except for the seven Paragons, were killed in an antimatter wave by the Anti-Monitor on December 10, 2019,[2] only to be restored a month later, after the Paragons and the Spectre created a new universe.[3]
New multiverse[]
At some point, Penelope and Richard met Joseph Carver, who later began extorting money from them,[4] making and storing a file on them, too.[5] But according to Sue, they volunteered to enter the Black Hole.[6]
Carver put Penelope and Richard in charge of all international accounts. He gave them 10% as long as they kept all of Black Hole's overseas assets hidden from the US government. Carver bought their loyalty for billions. And once they tasted it, they needed more.[6]
Rediscovering Sue[]

Penelope and Richard were called by Ralph to inform them that Sue was alive and the files were destroyed. Sue accompanied her parents to the detective agency so Ralph would not reveal the truth; Sue lied to her parents, telling them that she had been in India at a prayer sabbatical and lost track of time. They eventually paid Ralph for his services.[5]
Later, Eva McCulloch had replaced Penelope and Richard with mirror duplicates, but they were released from the Mirrorverse when Eva's plan was thwarted and the duplicates were destroyed.[7]
Being arrested[]
When Sue pulled her parents out of the Black Hole, it was too late. The people who created her are gone. They got used to that lifestyle. And no matter how hard Sue tried, she couldn't get them out, because they didn't want to leave.[6] Eventually, they ended up being arrested.[8]
