Perenna is a telepathic meta-human therapist who is helping Jennifer Pierce understand her powers better.
Biography
Perenna was contacted by Jefferson Pierce and Lynn Stewart at Peter Gambi's suggestion to counsel their daughter, Jennifer, and help her control her powers. Perenna approached Jennifer on the street in order to meet her without expectations, using her powers to pull her into an illusionary world. Despite assurances that Jennifer was safe and that her parents were involved, Jennifer demanded to be released which Perenna did. Jennifer later contacted Perenna to try again. Meeting in the park, Perenna introduced her to an illusionary construct that took the form of a beauty salon. As they began the training, Perenna built a box for Jennifer to put her feelings in, and asked her what material to make it out of. After demonstrating wood and rock, Jennifer settled on gold. During a later session, Perenna told Jennifer that it was not just about building a box to put her feelings in – she had to know what those feelings were. Perenna touched Jennifer and triggered a vision of Jennifer seemingly burning and screaming from the use of her powers.[1]
Perenna continued to help Jennifer learn to control her powers, encouraging her even when she failed to cage her feelings in the mind-box she created.[2]
Powers and abilities
- Telepathy: Perenna has the ability to read minds. Also Perenna can use her ability to bring others into a mental stage.
- Mental detection: Perenna can feel and detect the mind of others, as well as their intentions, emotions and mental states.[3]
- Psychic illusion: Perenna can project realistic illusions in other people's minds and make them experience things that not actually happen.
