Early life[]

Perry White had a great career as an investigative reporter prior to becoming editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet and is regarded as one of the world's greatest journalists. Cat Grant started out as Perry's assistant,[1] and she mentioned that in one occasion, Perry was so furious at one of his reporters for failing to meet a delivery that he threw his chair against a window, causing it to fall outside onto the street.[2]

Dawn of Supergirl[]

When Siobhan Smythe caught Supergirl on tape letting a K'hund get away and Cat refused to run the scoop, she called Perry to send the tape to him and use it as a route to be hired at the Daily Planet. However, once Cat learned about Siobhan's treachery, she fired her and persuaded Perry not to hire her either.[3]

After Clark Kent returned from his brief visit in National City, he immediately received a call from Perry, who scolded him for being absent from work for so long.[4]

Anti-Monitor Crisis[]

During the Anti-Monitor Crisis, Perry White as well as everyone in the multiverse except for the seven Paragons, was killed in an antimatter wave by the Anti-Monitor on December 10, 2019,[5] only to be restored a month later, after the Paragons and the Spectre created a new universe.[6]

The Midvale investigation[]

In 2009, Perry called CJ Grant to ask her why she had gone to Midvale with CJ explaining that she had a feeling that there was a story in the small town she wanted to explore.[7]
