Plastino was the vice president of the United States on Earth-38. Following his predecessor, Phil Baker's, impeachment and arrest, Plastino was appointed as the acting president of the United States; until re-elections can be held.
Biography
Vice president of the United States
At some point after Phil Baker became president, Plastino was appointed as his vice president of the United States.[1]
Acting president
Following the revelation of Baker's connection to Lex Luthor and the latter's terrorist activities, he was removed from office and arrested. Plastino subsequently assumed presidency; until re-elections were held again and began undoing all the damage done to the nation by his corrupt predecessor.
Plastino's first acts were to fire Ben Lockwood and remove the Children of Liberty's deputization, before having them imprisoned for domestic terrorism. He also appointed Lauren Haley as the interim secretary of the United States Department of Alien Affairs, as well as withdrawing martial law and reinstating the Alien Amnesty Act.[1]
Anti-Monitor Crisis
When a wave of antimatter was about to hit Earth, Plastino was contacted by Alex Danvers to prepare the evacuation of the Earth before the wave hits. He contacted the other world leaders to inform them of the situation and evacuate everybody off Earth-38.[2] It's assumed he died during The Crisis. Whether he was one of the 4.53 billion that died when the wave hit Earth-38 or he evacuated to Earth-1 and died when the wave hit that world is unknown.
Personality
Not much is known about Plastino's personality, except like Olivia Marsdin, he is an extremely selfless and non-corrupt individual who cares more about the welfare of his country and morality, than he does about his approval ratings; for example, after being appointed as the acting president of the United States (after Phil Baker's involvement with Lex Luthor was exposed) his first acts were to arrest Baker, take away the deputization of the Children of Liberty and have the group along with their leader, Ben Lockwood imprisoned for domestic terrorism, as well as re-enact the Alien Amnesty Act, thus; making aliens free citizens.
Plastino has taken it upon himself to undo all the political damage caused by Baker; which had almost resulted in a civil war between humans and aliens alike.
Despite Plastino not being an alien himself, he has no prejudice towards aliens, as he believes that someday most humans and aliens will be able to co-exist in peace; which is one of the reasons why he reinstated the Alien Amnesty Act.
