The quantum splicer is a device that was created to separate Firestorm back into Ronnie Raymond (and later Jefferson Jackson) and Martin Stein, it can also be used to re-merge the two back into Firestorm.
History[]
At some point, Eobard Thawne and Cisco Ramon created the quantum splicer using the Firestorm Matrix to help Ronnie Raymond and Martin Stein to combine together to form the meta-human Firestorm.[1]
When Ronnie died during Thе Singularity, the quantum splicer was passed to Jefferson Jackson. Eventually, Martin Stein died and the Firestorm Matrix was undone, so the Team Flash saved the quantum splicer at S T.A.R. Labs in a room assigned to be a "Hall for Fallen Heroes".[2][3]
After Caitlin Snow and Frost were separated into their own bodies, Caitlin came up with the idea of using the Firestorm Matrix in the quantum splicer to re-combine them. Frost however did not wish to return to sharing a body with Caitlin, and destroyed the device.[1]
Deathstorm used a version of the quantum splicer to gain Ronnie Raymond's body, and likely needs it to remain in that form.[4]
Possible future[]
At some point before or in 2049, the quantum splicer in the Firestorm suit was displayed at the Flash Museum.[2]
