Behind the scenes
- The more commonly accepted spelling of the real-world pharaoh's name is Ramesses II. He is often regarded as the greatest, most celebrated, and most powerful pharaoh of the Egyptian Empire. His reign was of unrivaled duration, from 1279 BC to 1213 BC.
- Ramesses II never had a child named Khufu. The historical pharaoh Khufu actually reigned over a millennia before Ramesses, during the 26th century BC.
