The "Rifle" is an assassin and a member of the Many Arms of Death.
Biography[]
Original multiverse[]
Early life[]
At some point, the Rifle became known for leaving death and destruction behind.
In late 2019, he went on missions to Jakarta and Metropolis before being hired by Alice in Gotham.[1]
Dealing with Batwoman[]
The Rifle came to Gotham under orders from Safiyah Sohail, to retrieve a weapon capable of penetrating the batsuit from Alice. He was also ordered by Alice to murder one of the scientists responsible for its creation, Derek Holcomb, before she hands the weapon to him from her possession. After he failed, Alice had Mouse finish the job; soon after Alice demanded what Safiyah promised to give her. He explained that his boss wouldn't hand over anything until they knew the gun worked, causing Beth to swiftly shoot it into a wall and walk away. Later, after the Rifle retrieved what Beth wanted, he delivered it to her and she finally handed over the gun, requesting he give Batwoman her best.
After the Rifle attempted to use the gun on Batwoman and it didn't work, he angrily returned to Beth's lair who only told him that it was a shame the only three people who could fix it were dead. He warned her that Safiyah was going to be pissed, causing Alice to slap him and warn him not to mention her name. After failing to kill Batwoman, he left Gotham and made his way to Santorini.[1]
Anti-Monitor Crisis[]
During Anti-Monitor Crisis, the Rifle as well as everyone in the multiverse except for the seven Paragons, was killed in an antimatter wave by the Anti-Monitor on December 10, 2019,[2] only to be restored a month later, after the Paragons and the Specter created a new universe.[3]
New multiverse[]
The Rifle is an assassin who works for Safiyah Sohail.[4] The events of his life were the same.[5]
Cancelled pursuit[]
Safiyah made a deal with Julia Pennyworth, who promised to gave her Lucius Fox's journal if she stopped the Rifle from pursuing Batwoman, which she did. However, after Julia discovered the journal's true content could be used to kill Batwoman the deal was off.[4]
Alice retold her experience with the Rifle upon seeing Safiyah in Coryana, but Safiyah claimed ignorance to the incident.[5]
