Trivia

Neron's plan to open a portal between Hell and Earth and allow millions of demons to reach Earth might have been a part of this event. (As indicated when John Constantine met with Sara Lance in 2018, and told her "The darkness; it's rising." Sara then asked him what that meant, with John going on to explain that magical creatures had been spat out across the timeline when the Legends freed Mallus, and warned Sara to prepare for the fight that was coming.)^[1] However, the plan was foiled by the Legends and the portal was closed before anything got through it.^[2]

The Rising Darkness is based in the Great Darkness, an entity in DC comics who was awakened by the Brujeria in the Crisis on Infinite Earths.
