  • There are two references to dictators in dystopian novels in this episode. The first is when they deem the rogues' unknown ally "Benefactor" who is the leader of the One State in "We" by Yevgeny Zamyatin. The second is when Iris calls Barry "Big Brother" in reference to "1984" by George Orwell.
  • Wade Eiling is the Macguffin as to why Team Flash cant just ask the DOD to let S.T.A.R. Labs hold on to the device for safe keeping. The guy may not have antagonized them in 8 years, but he's still a massive jerk.
  • The scene where Barry failed to convince the rogues he recruited about the plan to get the generator until they accused him of not trusting them is very similar to what happened in the Arrow Season 5 episode "The Recruits" where Oliver Queen recruited Rene Ramirez/Wild Dog and Evelyn Sharp/Artemis and trained them (including Curtis Holt/Mr.Terrific) as the Green Arrow without disclosing his identity until they all gave up on the training with Curtis accusing Oliver for not trusting them until by the end of the episode he reveals his identity and won his trust from the new recruits just like Barry did when he won the trust of the rogues by revealing that he's The Flash. The unknown speedster also revealed her identity by the end of the episode.
    • Also, the point when the rogues figure out Barry’s secret identity is similar to "Gone Rogue" when Nora’s rogues figured out she was XS.
  • Barry doesn't try pulling Captain Cold out of the past again, nor does he make any attempt to contact Golden Glider for help; as both are professional thieves skilled in silent theft. Suggesting the former is a bad idea due to the Legends' time travel and that latter no longer lives in Central City.
  • Goldface turned states witness and gave up Amunet as the one who planned the heist back in "Lockdown"; though it's unknown if she's gotten arrested in his place, or is staying in England to avoid being extradited back to Central City.
  • Chester mentions Wayne Tech as the best company in the world in terms of the advancing technologies field; this was rather inaccurate since a number of other legitimate tech and research companies (i.e. L-Corp, Mercury Labs, Lord Tehnologies, etc.) stand on par with Wayne Tech in that respect.
  • In a moment of humor, Jaco - the dumbest member of the Rogue Squad - points out to the better educated Keith that Barry is the Flash.

  • Red Death's speed is artificial. Not negative. It shouldnt be able to negate Flash's speed.
