Trivia

  • The title of the episode is a play on two famous titles: Romeo and Juliet, a famous Shakespearean tragedy, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, a film in the DC Extended Universe.
    • As Ray and Nate are saying their final goodbye, Zari recites the final lines from the famous balcony scene: "Good night, good night. Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night till it be morrow."
  • This episode marks Brandon Routh and Courtney Ford's last appearance as series regulars.[2]
  • The episode's working title was "Romeo v Juliet: Dawn of Justness".
  • As of this episode, Sara, Mick, and Gideon are the only three Legends left from the original team.
    • Additionally, the only comic book based characters that are still on the team are White Canary, Heat Wave, Steel, Zari (based on Isis), Behrad (based on Osiris), and Constantine.
  • Nate says to the cast of Romeo v Juliet that they have been replaced by Riverdale, which is another TV series on the CW.
  • Ray and Nate's tears and "I love you" during their goodbye scene were unscripted.[3]
  • This episode marks the second time Constantine wears special attire in a mission after "Wet Hot American Bummer".
  • Rasputin and Marie Antoinette are recalled by Astra into Hell, erasing their presence in the Waverider.
  • It is unknown what happened to the photo of Ray and Nate, which Ray originally intended to leave behind before the two reconciled. It's possible that Ray returned to his quarters after they said goodbye to retrieve it, or he still left it behind for Nate.

Goofs

  • In the Legends' production of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo (Constantine) and Juliet (Zari) share a kiss at the very end of the balcony scene, but this kiss doesn't occur in the actual play.
