An unnamed man is the husband of Natalie Lane, the father of Sam Lane, and the paternal grandfather of Lois and Lucy Lane.

At some point, the man joined the U.S. Army and married Natalie Lane. Later, they had a son named Sam Lane. During the World War II, the man flew a P-38 Lightning over Berlin, and earned a Flying Cross.[1]
Legacy[]
Decades later, Sam Lane gives to his grandson Jordan Kent his father's pilot goggles the man used in the World War II to wear on his future missions as a vigilante to be worn with a protective suit Sam had made for Jordan.[1]
