The first season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow​ premiered on January 21, 2016, on The CW and concluded on May 19, 2016. It consisted of 16 episodes and took place in conjunction with the fourth season of Arrow​ and the second season of The Flash​.

Trivia

  • Prior to the season premiere, The CW aired a TV special to promote this season titled DC's Legends of Tomorrow: Their Time Is Now.
  • It was reported that Barry Allen would appear in the season, but he did not.
  • This is the second shortest season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow with 16 episodes, tied with Season 4.
  • This is the first season to feature series regulars Ciara Renée and Falk Hentschel whose only credited in the two-part pilot, and also has a recurring role as Scythian Torvil in addition to a guest role as Joe Boardman and Khufu's 1941 reincarnation.
  • The First Look trailer has scenes that were either altered or never shown.
    • Rip Hunter recruiting the Legends was different, as in the trailer, Oliver and Barry give them a pep talk before Rip reveals himself and offers them to join him. However, Rip actually kidnaps them, and Oliver and Barry are absent.
      • Sara is also wearing her White Canary costume in the trailer, while in Pilot, Part 1, she wears civilian clothes.
    • The factory fight in the trailer was also never shown in the first season. This scene was also in a Speed Force vision in The Flash S1E23, but we never got to see it beyond the trailer.

This was the only season of Legends of Tomorrow to feature Ciara Renée (Kendra Saunders), Falk Hentschel (Carter Hall) and Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart) as series regulars.
