The Legends discover that pieces of the Spear are each being guarded in different time periods by members of the JSA. Their first stop is the future where they find Dr. Mid-Nite which eventually leads them to the past and King Arthur's Camelot, where Stargirl is protecting her piece of the Spear. In order to protect the Spear shard from the now-evil Rip Hunter, the Legends must join forces with the Knights of the Round Table.

"And the truth is, I don't want to see any more of you dead. Not out of sentiment, of course. No, no, quite the opposite. But because it is so... delicious, knowing that you'll be forced to live your lives in a reality that I—well, that we created. You will walk this world knowing that something isn't quite right, that for all your trying you only made things worse, and no one will ever believe you when you tell them about all the sacrifices you made and how close you came to being Legends."
Eobard Thawne to the Legends[src]

The second season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow premiered on October 13, 2016 on The CW and concluded on April 4, 2017. The season was originally going to consist of 13 episodes. However, on November 9, 2016, the CW ordered more episodes and the season consisted of 17 episodes. As of January 24, 2017, new episodes aired on Tuesdays after new episodes of The Flash.
