"Grief is a complex emotion that, as you know, deals on its own terms. There is no 'practice makes perfect'."

Original multiverse

Early life

Sharon Finkel graduated from Central City University, gaining a Master of Psychology.[1]

Counseling Team Flash

In late 2017, Iris West and Barry Allen attended a couples counseling session with Sharon. The couple revealed to Sharon the sheer number of family and friends they lost, much to her shock. Barry and Iris then explained how they were trying to find their rhythm at work since the former returned from a six-month "business trip". However, Barry had to leave early when an emergency came up, something Sharon immediately noted.

Later after Barry returned, Sharon urged him and Iris to talk directly to each other regarding their communication issues. The discussion cumulated in Iris tearfully expressing her pain over Barry's abandonment and refusal to talk about it.[2]

A few weeks following, Barry and Iris returned with Ralph Dibny, whom they wished for Sharon to hypnotize in order to recall some previous events for a "detective case". Sharon was able to successfully hypnotize Ralph into remembering some details from his bus trip a month prior, despite his skepticism.[1]

On January 30, 2018, Sharon counseled Cecile Horton and Joe West when Cecile gained telepathic powers. As Cecile revealed how her latest pregnancy symptoms allowed her to understand Joe's thoughts, she realized Sharon was secretly making a grocery list during the session and took Joe's side in the resulting privacy argument between the couple.[3]

After Ralph was possessed by Clifford DeVoe, Barry and Iris went to Sharon for help in coping with his recent death. Unlike Iris though, Barry refused to open up about his feelings, claiming he can deal with Ralph's death on his own due to his past experiences. However, Sharon reminded Barry of all of his deceased friends and family, explaining that grief was not something one could adjust to.

Later at their next session, Barry finally opened up to Sharon about his regrets over Ralph's untimely death, as he never got to tell his friend how proud he was of him becoming a hero. Sharon assured Barry of her confidence that Ralph already knew.[4] Shortly after, Cisco Ramon tried to schedule a session with Sharon, only to find out that she would be on vacation in Fiji for the next few weeks.[5]

Caitlin Snow saw Sharon in her quest to regain Killer Frost. As Caitlin tried to explain her relationship with her alter-ego, Sharon suggested that her split personality may have been triggered by a repressed childhood trauma, citing the death of Caitlin's father.[6]

Anti-Monitor Crisis

During the Anti-Monitor Crisis, Sharon as well as everyone in the multiverse except for the seven Paragons, was killed in an antimatter wave by the Anti-Monitor on December 10, 2019,[7] only to be restored a month later, after the Paragons and the Spectre created a new universe.[8]

New multiverse

By 2022, Sharon had helped Keith and Amunet Black resolve the last of their commitment issues, helping them fully embrace their rekindled romance and partnership.[9]
