For his alleged partner who goes under the same name, see Deathstroke.

Slade Wilson, also known as Deathstroke, is an alleged member of the Australian Secret Intelligent Service who was sent to Lian Yu to recover Yao Fei along with his partner, Bill Wintergreen. They apparently both go under the alter ego of "Deathstroke". Slade infers that his partner is "another guy". It is very possible that they are actually one and the same, with Slade simply suffering from dissociative identity disorder, or DID, as is the case with his original comic book counterpart.

Biography

When Oliver is searching a crashed plane, he is attacked by Slade Wilson. Wilson briefly fights Oliver, telling him that his attempts are worse than pathetic, subduing him with ease. When Oliver comes to he is nearly killed by Deathstroke, breaking his own arm in the process of freeing himself from the rope tying his wrists. He then punches Wilson in the face, who laughs and says he may be a warrior after all. Wilson then says that he will train Oliver, telling him that it is the only way that they would both survive an assault on Fyers' airstrip. When Oliver is choosing a weapon he finds Wilson's mask, identifying Wilson as Deathstroke, the man who tortured him at Fyers' command. Wilson says that there are two of them, claiming that the mask is worn by both of them to protect their identities whilst on mission. He also claims that they are in the service of ASIS (Australian Intelligence) who wanted to free Yao Fei from the island.

Abilities

  • Expert marksman: Slade was seen carrying an automatic rifle. While he never used it in the episode he appeared in, it can be assumed, that Slade is an expert with it, along with a whole host of other firearms.
  • Expert Swordsman: Slade has shown himself to be an expert swordsman, fighting Oliver and winning, and saying he likes swords.

Trivia

Mask Mounted

  • Slade's mask, or his partner's, was seen in "Pilot", mounted on a wooden stake when the Chinese fishermen who saw Oliver's distress signal came ashore to investigate. This may mean that Oliver killed Slade.
  • Slade has both of his eyes, specifically his right eye, which he does not have in the comics and most other media. This is expected to change due to the fact that mask mounted on the wooden stake seen in "Pilot " had the arrow through the right eye hole. Possibly showing that he had been shot in the right eye.
