Synopsis[]
After years of facing megalomaniacal supervillains, monsters wreaking havoc on Metropolis, and alien invaders intent on wiping out the human race, the world's most famous superhero, The Man of Steel aka Clark Kent and comic books' most famous journalist, Lois Lane, come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever - dealing with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today's society. Complicating the already daunting job of raising two boys, Clark and Lois must also concern themselves with whether or not their sons Jonathan and Jordan could inherit their father's Kryptonian superpowers as they grow older. Returning to Smallville to handle some Kent family business, Clark and Lois are reacquainted with Lana Lang, a local loan officer who also happens to be Clark's first love, and her Fire Chief husband Kyle Cushing. The adults aren't the only ones rediscovering old friendships in Smallville as the Kent sons are reacquainted with Lana and Kyle's rebellious daughter, Sarah. Of course, there's never a dull moment in the life of a superhero, especially with Lois' father, General Samuel Lane looking for Superman to vanquish a villain or save the day at a moment's notice. Meanwhile, Superman and Lois' return to idyllic Smallville is set to be upended when a mysterious stranger enters their lives.[src] |

Trivia[]
- Superman & Lois is an indirect reference to the 1993 television series; Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
- The unproduced fifth season of Lois & Clark would have been centered on the protagonists raising a child together, which is similar to the Superman & Lois premise.
- Filming for Season 1 began on October 21, 2020.[6]
- The events of Superman & Lois take place on an alternate Earth separate from Earth-Prime in the new multiverse.
- Superman & Lois was originally developed as a Supergirl spin-off which would've taken place on Earth-Prime as a continuation of Earth-38 Superman and Earth-38 Lois Lane's post-Earth-Prime history. The final part of the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover presumably served as the setup. However, those plans including a crossover attempt with Supergirl and Batwoman were scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic and because the latter series was presented in letterbox format unlike Superman & Lois which used the Atmos format.[7] So the writers decided to place the series on Earth-TUD25 as a fresh start to the live-action superhero shows. Despite the circumstances, Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Jenna Dewan and David Ramsey are the only Arrowverse actors to play the Superman & Lois doppelgängers of their respective characters while characters like Jonathan Kent, Sam Lane, Jor-El, Phillip Karnowsky, Lara Lor-Van, Lex Luthor, Jimmy Olsen, Lillian Luthor and Lionel Luthor are played by different actors. In addition, Morgan Edge was used as the human alias for Tal-Rho.
- A deleted scene from the pilot had a photo of Kara Danvers on Lois Lane's desk.
- Tyler Hoechlin (Clark Kent), Elizabeth Tulloch (Lois Lane) and Alex Garfin (Jordan Kent) are the only actors to have appeared in every episode of the show.
- Additionally of what's stated above, Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Jordan Kent and Jonathan Kent the only characters to have appeared in every episode of the show, even though Jon was played by Jordan Elsass during the first two seasons of the show and by Michael Bishop during the last two seasons, with each actor appearing in every episode of those seasons.
- Michael Cudlitz (Lex Luthor) is credited in the special appearance by bill, but he is still considered part of the main cast of Season 4.
- Seven seasons was the original plan but the reason to end the Superman & Lois after its fourth season is to avoid conflicts with the new Superman film of the DCU.[citation needed]
