Trivia

  • This episode introduces Julia Pennyworth, the daughter of Bruce Wayne’s butler, Alfred. In the comics, Julia (also known as Julia Remarque) was originally the daughter of Alfred and the French heroine, Mademoiselle Marie. In her first appearances, Julia became romantically involved with Bruce Wayne and later sought a career as a reporter. After the New 52 reboot, Julia was now working for the Special Reconnaissance Regiment and became an ally of the Bat family, frequently assuming her father’s role. She also worked very closely with Batwoman.
  • In the comics, the Rifle works for the Many Arms of Death, a terrorist organization with reach across the world, which specialized in illegal weaponry. The organization also used a legitimate company called the Kali Corporation as a front to cover their illegal activities. As a play on their name, the group's field operatives used weapon-based codenames (The Rifle, The Knife, The Needle, etc.).
  • The Rifle mentions his employer, Safiyah. In the comics, Safiyah Sohail is the ruler of a pirate nation called Coryana, and Kate Kane’s former lover. Kate and Safiyah became lovers after Safiyah saved Kate's life during a shipwreck and nursed her back to health on her island. Safiyah and her daughter Fatima were also associated with the Many Arms of Death.
