"The Darkness and the Light" is the fifth episode of the second season of The Flash and the twenty-eighth episode overall. It aired on November 3, 2015. It was the first half of a two-parter.[1]
Synopsis
Barry learns a new breacher, Dr. Light, has come through the portal and sets off to capture her. Jay tells Barry that Dr. Light was not a threat on Earth Two and that Barry can reason with her. However, during a fight with The Flash, she blinds him and drops some shocking news about Zoom. Meanwhile, Barry and Patty go out on a date.[2]
Trivia
- Jay Garrick mentions one of his closest friends originating from the Atlantis of his world. This is likely a reference to Aquaman, who is the king of Atlantis.
- This is technically the first time the team meets the actual Harrison Wells, as the Earth-1 Wells was killed and replaced by Eobard Thawne long before the series started.
- Cisco gains the nickname "Vibe" in this episode. Vibe is his superhero alias in the comics.
