"I don't know if anybody's told you this, but... the feng shui of this place is a bit stale."
Lex Luthor[src]

The Monitor's realm is an extra-temporal dimension that served as the residence for Mar Novu.

History[]

Oliver Queen and Barry Allen were both brought to the realm by the Monitor. Oliver later returned to the realm to plead for taking the Book of Destiny from John Deegan.[1]

When Lex Luthor was killed by his sister, Novu took his body and revived him before leaving him in the realm with nothing but a chessboard for him to entertain himself with until the time came for them to leave to fight in the Crisis. Once he returned, they discussed how the multiverse would require Lex's genius to survive and by fighting in the Crisis, Lex can become the hero he always wanted to be, ultimately convincing Lex to help but before he offered his services, he asked that they talk about Lena.[2]

Felicity Smoak later went into the realm and told Novu about the identities of the Paragons.[3]

Behind the scenes[]

  • In the comics, the Monitor's Satellite was a space station from where the Monitor resided, keeping watch over all times, places, and dimensions and coordinating his efforts to stop the Crisis. Post-Crisis, the Monitors repurposed it as or built a similar place known as the Monitor Sphere, a satellite on the edge of the multiverse.
  • The realm seems to change to fit the current time, as when Oliver first visited it, it was bright but when Novu returned to visit Lex, the realm was darker in color.
