- This is the first issue featuring James and Cat.
- The suburban town, Leesburg, in the state of Virginia is mentioned in this issue. In the comics, the town was the home of the Danvers family.
- In the comics, Vril Dox is known as Brainiac 2, similar to how Indigo is Brainiac 8. The name "Vril Dox" has also been used by the original Brainiac.
- Vril Dox originally introduces himself as an A.I. called V.R.I.L. (Virtual Remote Integration Logistics), which is similar to how Brainiac is often depicted as an A.I. in many of the adaptations the character.
- The real life term "doxxing" is mentioned in this issue, in regards to its similarity to Vril Dox's name.
