The Wizard of Oz is a film released in 1939 on Earth-1.
History[]
At some point in 1939, The Wizard of Oz was created in the United States (Earth-1).[1] During its 1939 release, Amaya Jiwe and Bobby Poduski saw a screening of The Wizard of Oz together at a movie theater; Amaya, however, was unable to finish watching the film with Bobby, because she received word during the screening that Adolf Hitler had just invaded Poland, and that the JSA had to ship out for duty as soon as possible. Years later, Amaya recounted her involvement with Bobby to Nate Heywood.[2]
In early 2016, Once arriving on Central City (Earth-2), Cisco Ramon states, "I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore", referencing the quote from Dorothy Gale in the film.[3]
During the Dominator invasion in December 2016, Ray Palmer jokingly suggests they "click [their] heels three times and say 'there's no place like home'" to escape the dream world, a reference to the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz.[4]
In 2017, During Sara Lance's vision of her late sister Laurel, the film was seen playing on the TV in the background, during a scene of the tornado in Kansas that featured the character Dorothy Gale.[5]
