    • This means that Eobard Thawne is returning as he was the main antagonist in Flashpoint. If it is to be closely resembled to the comics, Barry is going to wake up and realize everything is different, but start to have memories from the Flashpoint universe instead of the New Earth (Earth 1, 2, etc.) universe. I CANT WAIT FOR EOBARD!!!

(ALARMS, THIS IS NOT A DRLL)

Kaestal nerding out alert has been given.

SPOILERS FOR THE FLASHPOINT COMIC SERIES BELOW

Flashpoint was a recent comic series that revolved around Barry running back in time to save his mother's life from Eobard; however this resulted in a "time wave" that altered events both before and after his mother was killed.

Superman's rocket hit and destroyed Metropolis before being captured by the govenrment, therefore never becoming a hero and when Krypto was found they experimented on the dog until there was nothing left.

Thomas and Martha Wayne survived the robbery while Bruce was killed, resulting in Thomas becoming Batman while Martha went insane and became Joker.

Hal Jordan never become the Green Lantern.

Aquaman and Wonder Woman are basically tyrants. Atlantis and Themyscira enter into a war that floods most of Europe.

Cyborg is America's premire Superhero and Shazam is made out of six different people instead of just one.

Ends with Barry going back in time to fix what he broke, allowing his mother to die so that millions can live. New 52 is the result due to some outside interference by a woman named Pandora.

He saved his mother which means his bond with Iris and Joe never grew in the way it did, he would never get into phorensic science which means he wouldn't be in the position to be struck by lightning, ergo he would never become the Flash. Hell yeah it did, I mean most of the important figures that are involved in the Flashpoint Comic don't exist in the Arrowverse so I am really confused as to what might occur this time around. I'm also kind of disappointed that Harry and Jesse left. I mean I'm glad that they got to go home b ut their was so much potential there. Also I knew from the beginning that the Masked Man was the real Jay hell I didn't know he was going to look exactly like Barry's dad.

@Eli I mean this could be a very easy way to some how work in Supergirl's earth into the Arrowverse more permanently. Wait....the massive crossover between Arrow, Supergirl, Flash and LoT is that going to be Flashpoint!?

    • When luck runs out, make your own luck. Also, if he did this, he's likely still bound to become the Flash, regardless. In the words of Earth-2 Harrison Wells, "This is his origin story."

On this very wiki, they tell you the red lightning comes from prolonged use of the tachyon device.

Personally, they should do their own thing and have dim grey lightning instead.

We suspect on the Supergirl wiki that before the crossover he'll use his timey whimey powers and fix it but this will somehow result in Supergirl joining with the Arrowverse and that whoever is in the Kryptonian pod kinda heralds this happening which makes sense because in theory Supergirl's finale events were probably happening as the metapocolypse was occuring maybe before.

        Loading editor
    • yes, you are right -- the whole reason Eobard came back from the future to kill Barry's mum was because of Barry being the Flash, and also Eobard has now been stopped from killing Mr and Mrs Harrison Wells so they get to have Jessie (Mrs Wells was pregnant) and go ahead to build the accelerator.  So Barry was just correcting the timeline back to the original timeline that Eobard changed

exactly have the first nine episodes of The Flash or the Arrowverse about The Flashpoint then after Barry defeats Thawne and goes back in time to stop himself the rest of the episodes will be about something else ,but the only two groups that could replace the Atlanteans and the Amazonians are the League of Assains and Hive but they are villains.

Well, all of Oliver's antagoists have been either, a League of Assassins member or came from Lian yu, which makes them as equally tough as him. All of Kara's rivals have been Kryptonians or Aliens, which makes them equal to her (Though she only got one season so far, so we'll see). So It's safe to assume all of Barry's villans, will be Speedsters.

If that isn't a betrayal, especially because he looked to all of them and said "I'm sorry but I have to do this." I don't know what is.

Exactly. I'm SOOOOOOOO ANGRY Barry even THOUGHT about that. Although, does that mean Zolomon still lives or is he like trapped with the Time Wraiths? Plus, I hope Reverse-Flash is like a secondary antagonist or something rather then a main antagonist. Also, does this mean nobody discovers Earth-2? Plus, Eobard Thawne told Barry that they "would continue being enemies" and that "Barry had followed Eobard Thawne to the past". Basically they will dicover the timeline where Thawne lives and goes back in time to kill his mother. I just can't BELIEVE what Barry did. Or maybe Barry's memories will help him alter the timeline where that happens. Or, Hunter Zolomon is Black Racer who tracks Barry down here with the Time Wraiths all while Eobard Thawne confronts Barry!

Black Flash is a manifestation of Death for Speedsters as the normal Death is apparently unable to catch them.

I already knew this, but thanks for clarifying for those who didn't know. I've always wondered why Black Racer has skis on. There isn't any snow on Apokolips so those skis are useless unless he uses them to get through space or they allow him to float, but then he just looks stupid using skis in the air.

That is the New 52 version of the Black Racer and he only looks that way because of fusing with The Flash for a brief time, the old one is more "iconic" I'd say.

They already teased the batman chair from Flashpoint when Barry disintegrated. Maybe it will appear. I rewatched The Flashpoint Paradox yesterday. What a great film. I watched it the first time after I finished the comic which was about a year and a half ago. It sucks they won't get to use characters like Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Supes. Hopefully they can find some replacement characters.

Being affected by the particle accelerator explosiin is what caused him to become the flash, not his mother s death. Just because we knoe that in the original timeline he still became the flash, but in 2020 that does not mean that she died at some point piror to 2020.

      here's a theory:

Time Wraiths were former speedsters themselves and their appearance is due to the punishment laid out by the Speedforce against the rule breakers. Zoom turning into Black Flash was the starting phase of that process.

    • The season 2 finale really has us thinking. Barry Allen just did something that should not have been done. Understandably he missed both his parents but he had Iris and his friends. However, I'm confused. This has really started to make me headachy, but if you think about it, we don't know what really happens in the original timeline. The things we know are: Harrison Wells creating the particle accelerator in 2020, Barry marrying Iris and Barry getting his powers in 2020. Now, Martin Stein said when Barry's mother died it altered the timeline. I dont know if anyone will agree with me but, I dont think Barry's mother dying causes an alteration of the timeline. I believe Harrison Wells dying is the reason why the timeline is altered. If Harrison Wells dies, there's no particle accelerator or The Flash because he created it (unless Tess Morgan creates it herself). In the current timeline, Eobard Thawne created the particle accelerator in 2013, 7 years before it should have been created, creating The Flash 7 years before he should have been created.

If anything, Nora Allen dies most probably in the Original Timeline the same way in the current timeline. However, that doesn't solve the million dollar question: What exactly happens in the original timeline and what had to change in the original timeline that creates the current timeline?

As for this episode, it seemed pretty good. I should have clued in that the Iron Mask was Jay Garrick with Henry saying something about Garrick being his mother's maiden name. It's pretty upsetting that Jesse and Harry had to leave but c'est la vie. Even though Wally doesn't have powers, I still say he's a hero despite so.

And so, the finale. Barry is still as clueless as ever. Nora's death was the key to him becoming the Flash. Saving her means no moving in with Joe, no CSI work and really, no Flash. I hope they don't dwell on Season 3 completely being based on Flashpoint and actually have a cool villain.

S2: Hunter was taken out by the Speedforce via Time Wraiths.

Actually Barry was the one, who defeated Zoom. Yes he let the time wraiths to finish him, but at that point he already defeated him, so he is the one, who stopped Zoom.

    • I bet Season 3 could be about the Flashpoint Paradox. Barry could be the Flash. The Green Arrow could be Batman. And then Green Arrow/Batman could be the father of Oliver. Aquaman and Wonder Woman's forces fighting could be Captain Cold and Sara Lance. When Laurel dies, Sara/Wonder Woman could blame Captain Cold/Aquaman and kill Heatwave and then Captain Cold/Aquaman could declare war on Sara/Wonder Woman. Then there's Superman. Supergirl could be the lab rat for the U.S. since she crossovered with The Flash. Of course we need a Cyborg trying to recruit heroes like Batman/Green Arrow. Our Cyborg could be The Atom.

    • In the comics Flashpoint altered things before the change took place, like Superman's rocket being sent off course despite Barry gaining his powers about 20 years later and his mother dying about 6 or 7 years later.

It was explained as the timeline equivalent of a sonic boom

Doubtful, she wasn't killed by Eobard in the original timeline. Although it seems pretty obvious that Barry will have to go back in time to stop himself from saving her.

The Flash from Season 1 got erased from existence and Eddie and Eobard are possibly still alive due to Barry preventing their deaths. That also means Barry may become Future Barry as Future Barry's parents were still alive and stuff.

You do have a point there, hmm time moves differently in Kara's world compared to Barry's so...hmm no that doesn't work well I do have to take time travel into consideration so while Barry may have fixed this months from now the worlds began to converge at that point possibly do to frequencies between the two Earths syncing up. Hmm...gotta stop for a bit...getting a headache from all the time tavel.

    • Time might also not move a a different rate between the two Earths, and instead when Barry was returning he returned to just after he left.

    • Try looking at Rogue Time. Since Barry went back an entire day and knew what was going to happen before it could happen, he changed the entire outcome, allowing for other factors to occur.

Or the second season of the original Witchblade, which takes us back to the scenes used in the TNT film. Instead of going to the theater like she did in the film, Sara decided not to, resulting in her fellow detective not dying and becoming a ghost.

Well if Eddie erasing Eobard says anything it's that an ancestor getting killed destroys people but not their actions as Eobard dissipated but nothing changed like the metas.

    • In the Witchblade series, the power to rewind time could only be used once. If the weilder chooses to rewind time, they will remember very little of what happened before the reversal of time. Also, nobody else affected by the reversal recall much of their lives from the reversal, even those that died have no memory. Some can have fragments of the previous time in the form of dreams.

    • I wonder if the person in the pod is there to help the people of Kara's Earth adjust to the merging, season 2 for Supergirl is said to focus on the past and if this character was a version of Kara, weather by name or past, who simply never became a hero then it could be focusing on how different their timelines are. It makes sense though, the frequencies were forshadowed to be simmilar and as Kara said, "Two Earths with simmilar frequencies can merge." And Barry's constant time/interdimensional travel is likely messing with the wall keeping the two apart.

To my knowledge Vertigo was just a set of comics sold under a different title for more mature audiences but still on New Earth.

Wildstorm was also only visited during transdimensional events.

Of course with New 52 Wildstorm was merged entirely into the new Prime Earth

    • I have that feeling that snippets of the "original" timeline will be merged into season 3. When Flashpoint is done it could create a new timeline (if the writers decide to do so) but keep most things intact before Barry saves his mom, although with a few alterations (Barry could get a slightly different suit, with the suit more red with some new features (like his 2024 one), Cisco can get his Vibe costume, people who are dead could be brought back to life, lets say Earth-1 Harrison Wells (the real Wells, and other things). If you think about it, the show could continue into 2024 then have Flash and Reverse Flash time travel to 2000 and then 2024 Flash tell 2015 Flash not to save his mother, which would explain why future Flash tells 2015 Flash not to save his mother because of the repurcussions of saving Nora Allen.

If Laurel being alive directly resulted in thousands or millions more dying, what would you do? I myself wouldn't hesitate to put the needs of the many over the needs of the one.

Plus, it would need to go further, kill Laurel Lance so hard that resurrection is impossible even with Time Travel and put the issue to rest by then having E-2 Laurel kill a child and render her irredeemable as she has no guilt or remorse for that action.

I am kinda tired of seeing the "BRING LAUREL BACK AND MAKE DEATH POINTLESS" comments. I mean... why not the thousands of people who have died over the course of each show? But no, only the character that was considered useless and only want her to be revived so the "true love" between Laurel and Oliver can come to fruition, despite him cheating on her really hard.

Whats that? They were not only divorced in the comics but as of New 52 they haven't met, and the show doesn't have to follow the comics? Ridiculous.

Being in an unwinnable situation and saying "Oh ya, I can totally save everyone because I have optimism" is naive.

Here is a scenario to think on; you are a super powered individual in the middle of a street and there are two bombs attached to two separate people's spine on opposite ends of the block. They are near a group of people and you can reach one of them to remove it safely via hand vibration or phasing or something, but it takes you 6 seconds to reach them and 1 second to remove it.

The bombs are both set to go off in 12 seconds. People will die no matter what as you are alone, and you also might hesitate for a brief moment and everyone dies.

While being optimistic is good there are limits on what is able to be accomplished and this needs to be recognized.

Suppose this too, Laure Lance being alive is resulting in other people dying because she was supposed to remain dead and some mystical force is draining them of their lifeforce and is sustaining her own. No magic potion can fix it, no sorceror has the ability to balance it out, no time travel will undo it as its a fixed point in time and shouldn't have been undone.

Would you really let this one person live if an untold number will die because of it?

I just found the song the CW used for their commercials featuring Flash and Arrow. Victorious. It helps my optimism for heroes like these.

At some point there is a situation which is unwinnable and has only bad options which result in death.

If you are physically unable to reach someone before they fall, they will fall because you are unable to reach them in time. A cliff for example, if they fall and are outside of your reach, they will fall because you cannot reach them.

Its like I'm explaining that 2+2=4, but you keep saying if you have enough optimisim it will equal 5

She's going to be the main cast of Arrow, The Flash (season 3), and Legends of Tomorrow (season 2). She will also appear in Vixen season 2. Vixen will also be joining Legends of Tomorrow season 2.

    • The “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” ensemble is going to get even larger for Season 2.

The cast and producers revealed at Comic-Con that several new heroes and villains will join for the second season, and released photos of the characters.

Rex Tyler a.k.a. Hourmans (Patrick J. Adams), who was the first member of the Justice Society of America to appear on the show, will enlist several other members in Obsidian, Stargirl and Dr. Mid-Nite. The roles have yet to be cast.

As for the villains, a crew that the show calls the Legion of Doom will consist of Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), the Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher) and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller).

Matt Letscher, who has appeared on “The Flash,” will join “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” as a series regular. Deals that allowed Wentworth Miller and John Barrowman to appear across multiple shows were announced earlier this summer. Neal McDonough’s Damien Darhk character will have a recurring role in “Legends.”

    • I just realized something as a result of the last episode of the season: If he went back in time and saved his mother from Reverse-Flash, then that means the Particle Accelerator was never built ahead of time. So doesn't that mean it's not around right now?

    • There might be some things the time alteration affected that wouldn't be foreseen, I mean in the trailers Barry somehow has Eobard trapped and there is Wally-Flash running around.

Maybe Rich!Cisco has something to do with it, who knows.

If that is so, how does Kid Flash exist?

Maybe Kid Flash comes later like after Barry fixes his mistake (assuming he fixes this before the crossover)

      Why would Wally be Impulse?

Plus, in the Flashpoint world I doubt the first Flash would be called "Kid Flash", unless of course Barry is still The Flash, in which case could you really call a guy who is about even to him in height a Kid?

    • Due to the comics, there have been many speedsters, each with different aliases. Only Reverse- and Kid Flash have personal ties to Flash. Impulse is not part of the Flash mantle and is therefore different from the scarlet hero.

    • I kinda know that first part but from his outfit Wally would be called Kid Flash.

If we suddenly get Bart here then sure, why not. Make Impulse. It seems that Wally will be Kid Flash though, despite ridiculous it is to call a fully grown person "Kid"

      Impulse- Bart Allen

      Bart Allen- Barry Allen's grandson

Bart Allen is the 4th person to take on the Flash mantle.

      He is still a teenager.

It's his comic book alias, and it works

Kid Flash only really works if there's already a Flash though.

Which is why I think it might be after the crossover which should be after Barry fixes his mistake

    • At what age did Wally stop being Kid Flash in the comics?

        Loading editor
    • Wally quit being a hero in order to go to school (I think college too) and then after the Crisis of Infinite Earths he replaced Barry Allen as The Flash after he died.

He might of put on the RF suit like... once after graduating highschool, but it wasn't long before he became The Flash.

    • Of course the other theory could be true and Cisco calls him Kid Flash despite Wally's protests but again if he goes by the codename Kid Flash then it'll be after Barry fixes his mistake

    • Forget everything I asked about everything earlier in this. I finally looked up the piece on timeline remnants on YouTube. Since the Flash came from the future, he can't undo his own origin story, even if he saves his mother's life.

      I understand that now.

Also couldn't stop looking at the scene between Flash and Reverse-Flash talking. It's so incredible.
