- "So I'm posted here making sure this fixed point remains intact, with this. This keeps me trapped in this day. June 28th, 1914. When this timer hits zero, it jumps me back twenty-four hours. It can also freeze time, as you've discovered. It really is just a handy little gadget."
- —Eobard Thawne to Sara Lance[src]
Time manipulators[1] are devices used by fixers of a fixed point to stop time and revert any potential damages to the timeline caused by time travelers.
History[]
After he was vaporized by the Black Flash, Eobard Thawne was resurrected by the Time Wraiths, who gave him a watch-like device that would help him protect the "fixed point". Placed in Sarajevo, June 28, 1914, Eobard was tasked with ensuring the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and the time manipulator kept him trapped in a loop of that day while giving him the ability to freeze time to prevent the various time-travelers' attempts at stopping the assassination. Eobard stayed in this loop long enough to come to agree with the Time Wraiths' philosophy of protecting the timeline at all costs.[2]
When Eobard eventually died due to a stab wound inflicted by Sara Lance, he was visited by the real Sara Lance, who reluctantly took the time manipulator after it removed itself from Eobard's wrist. Nate Heywood later tricked his robot clone into donning the time manipulator, which caused him to unwillingly take up Eobard's role as the protector of the fixed point.[1]
To protect Alun Thomas's death during World War I in 1916, the fixer Mike kept a time manipulator to prevent Alun's death, and used it to stop time and play golf. Mike met up with the Legends whom he unfroze, as he was tricked by them, but froze them, to steal the Waverider.[3]
Functions[]
- Temporal stasis: The device allows the user to freeze time.
- Time travel: The device has a perpetual twenty-four-hour timer which, upon reaching zero, has the user sent back in time to relive the same day over again.
- Immortality (possibly): Because the time manipulators rewind time and send their users back to the beginning of the day when the clock runs out, there is a chance the user repeatedly becomes a day younger every time the clock resets making the device user immortal.

Trivia[]
- This is the second watch-like device owned by Eobard Thawne, the first being his pager from Season 2. The first helped Eobard evade the Black Flash for some time, while the second allowed him to protect the timeline.
