In 2014, someone hired an assassin known as Komodo to kill Tom, but he was saved by the Arrow.
Tom later attended an executive meeting at Palmer Technologies, where Komodo also appeared to kill Ray Palmer, but he was arrested by Arrow again.[1]

Behind the scenes
- In the DC comics, Colonel Thomas Weston was a recurring enemy and mentor of Steel at Amertek when he was designing the deadly BG-60 assault rifle, selling the design behind his back. Steel later learned that Amertek had been selling weapons to gangs under Weston's orders, who was revealed to have deep underworld connections.
