"The Children of Liberty announcing themselves to the world."
"Agent Dox is already working on identifying Agent Liberty, and trying to find if there's a deeper message in the manifesto."
"Why? I mean, these are the rantings of a human hate group.

"Twilight's Last Gleaming" is a piece of literature and the manifesto of the Children of Liberty, written by Ben Lockwood.

History[]

Ben Lockwood wrote the manifesto and the Children of Liberty spread it throughout National City via drones. Querl Dox could not trace any fingerprints or serial numbers. Despite D.E.O. Director Alex Danvers comparing the literature to leaflets that were historically used to activate uprisings, such as the White Rose in Germany or the CIA in Guatemala in 1954, Colonel Lauren Haley declared the D.E.O. would not be involved in the matter. Alex disobeyed this order and had Dox continue the investigation.[1]

Writing[]

To all true children of liberty who believe this country is OURS. We must resist the alien scourge.

This is a Manifesto

I know you are afraid. When the highest office in our country can be infiltrated by an alien, none of us are safe. When they have the technology to hide their alien identities, we are under the constant threat of danger and manipulations. When they have super human alien powers, none of us alone has the ability to defeat them if they choose to attack. And they will.

Every human, man, woman and child regardless of race, orientation or religious backing has the right to defend their homes against the invasion of uninvited aliens. They wreak havoc on our cities, cause unwanted destruction, bringing their problems and their wars to our door steps. The door steps of our homes, that we have worked and toiled so hard to provide our families.

We must stead against the villainy of our invaders and say we will take no more. Our species calls Earth home and our home must be protected from the alien invasion. We have seen races of aliens destroy without regard, how many countless friends, family, humans must die, how many children must grow up without fathers and mothers because they have come with their wars in tow?

How does the common person tell their children that the future is bright and that they can accomplish anything they out their minds to, when the truth is these plagues, these unwanted aliens can do more with speed, strength, technology? Do we want a world where our children will grow up always inferior, always afraid? Or do we as citizens of Earth, Children of Liberty take up arms against our oppressors?

We have allowed our lands, homes and jobs to be usurped by creatures that could not even use their technology, strength and speed to solve their own problems on their own worlds. Yet we are demanded to take them in as refugees, as equal living beings who should be afforded the rights and freedoms our Human, our American soldiers fought dearly so for that one day we would have peace and prosperity. None of which we have seen from these aliens.

Earth First! Earth First! Earth First!

Deeper Message[]

Querl Dox identified 10,011 codes within the leaflet; if every seventh letter is scrambled, it reads a phrase in the Raolian language: "ham sandwich." Querl believed this to be a direct insult to Thanksgiving since the manifesto was released just before it.[1]
