- In the DC comics, the Riddler, Edward Nygma, is a criminal mastermind and enemy of Batman who commits crimes revolving around an obsession with riddles. His first appearance in the comics was Detective Comics #140. After discovering Bruce Wayne's secret identity, the Riddler teamed up with Hush, Tommy Elliot, to take their shared revenge.
