Ok so I'm a bit all over with Flash at the moment but I've seen clips from the mid-season finale and I instantly noticed several glitches in the timeline that seemingly go unresolved revolved mainly regarding Eobard Thawne and Hunter Zolomon. There's no real problems with Savitar since neither he or 2017-Barry saw 2018-Barry and Nora. In short though Reverse-Flash shouldn't know about Savitar and Zoom should've been killed in the mid-season finale, the explains are written below.
The biggest headache of a problem is Hunter Zolomon.
First glitch is Hunter just stole Barry's speed and kidnapped Caitlin so he should be on Earth-2 playing out his twisted beauty and the beast fantasy with her (2x19) so unless he somehow sensed the arrival of two more speedsters (future-Barry and Nora), why did he even come back?
Zoom saw Barry with his speed just minutes after stealing it. He should've killed the 2016-Barry to ensure that doesn't happen.
Second glitch is Hunter literally just stole 2016-Barry's speed then when he chases after Nora upon realizing she's a speedster too sees 2018-Barry using his speed before being pulled away by Time Wraiths. To Zoom's perspective at this point in time he now knows there's a version of Barry with his speed intact and there's a female speedster acompaying him. Since Zoom is basically a Speed Fore junkie he should be searching for these two now yet we know he doesn't because they weren't there before so does that mean he now just gives up? Zoom's no stranger to time travel he'd have probably figured out who 2018-Barry was, realizing that he'll restore his speed one day, and would've killed 2016-Barry while he's literally powerless to stop him.
Barry's intervention causing Time Wraiths to appear means Zoom should've become Black Flash sooner, erasing his actions from 2x18 onward.
Third glitch is the Time Wraith that intercept Zoom while chasing Barry and Nora. At that point in time the Time Wraiths are still find and transform him into Black Flash (2x23) yet this is set during 2x18 so Barry's intervention means Zoom should become Black Flash now. However this would mean Caitlin probably gets killed by E2-Caitlin, Jay Garrick never gets discovered, the Metapocalypse never happens, E2-Laurel Lance never arrives altering most of Arrow season 5 onward, Henry doesn't die, Flashpoint and Savitar never happen which means the Legends never have to pursue the Spear of Destiny and Rip Hunter doesn't go missing. Did the Time Wraiths just drop him off back in the timeline in anticipation of later turning him into Black Flash rather than just do it sooner, or was it because of all this confusing paradox crap that they didn't just kill him sooner?
Fourth glitch is how the hell can Zoom even catch up to Barry and Nora in the Speed Force? Without tachyons it literally took Barry the entire season to match Zoom's speed (he even had to die and go into the Speed Force to do it) and defeat him in 2x23. It's been 3 years and Barry's only gotten faster yet Zoom has seems to have no problem keeping up with 2018-Barry. What the hell?
Eddie's death erased the timeline Eobard hailed from, one where Savitar couldn't have existed because Flashpoint hadn't happened yet. This is also forgetting that his death was indirectly caused by Eobard's very presence altering Eddie and Barry's lives.
Another confusing matter is how Eobard Thawne knows Savitar existed? If Eobard's earlier claims are true then the entire Arrowverse timeline is an alternate timeline and killing Barry's mother was the point of divergence so everything Barry goes through from that point on is different to the Barry Allen that Eobard knew in his future. Savitar is a result of Flashpoint who didn't exist before it which in itself is a result of the current timeline Barry's actions. If erasing Savitar restored the future to it's Pre-Flashpoint setting the future Eobard himself hails from was erased when Eddie killed himself and erased Eobard himself (don't even get me started on trying to figure that out lol), so it's impossible for Eobard to have learned of Savitar during an earlier encounter because he didn't exist yet because he hadn't changed the timeline yet.
Savitar didn't exist until after Flashpoint, well after Eddie's death and not part of the future Eobard hailed from. There's no reason Eobard should know this Barry existed.
Even if killing Barry's mother causes the fallout of his future actions to unfold all at once how can 2000/2015-Eobard learn Savitar exists when he's stuck in the past? Remember if Savitar existed at that point the future newspaper would've said Julie Greer not Iris West-Allen because Barry hadn't changed the future yet, which in itself wouldn't have discouraged Eddie from proposing to Iris either which could've endanger Nora's existence. Even if Eobard somehow used the newspaper to learn of Savitar's existence there's no way he didn't he learn of Eddie's impending death. Eobard spent just as much time spying on Eddie throughout his life as he did Barry so he would've known if he was gonna die, which means Eobard basically f***ed himself by revealing his relation to Eddie.
See what I mean? I understand the sentiment for Flash's 100th episode revisiting it's greatest hits and villains (though lets face it Savitar was poorly written) but there just seems to be a lot of oversights on the writers behalf, even more so than usual.
