Episode credit sections

Per your edit here, I've reverted it. Please read our Manual of Style, as it states specifically that a second section should not be made, but instead lumped on to the first one. —MakeShift (talk page) 23:22, December 20, 2019 (UTC)

That's no worries, we all need a bit of time away now and then! Yes, we have begun adding cast sections, as you'll see from the additions to the Manual of Style, but the particular section I linked details how any specific section should not be doubled up; in this instance, there should only be a single "Special appearance by" section, even though people were credited in both the opening and closing credits; this should be consolidated into one, that was what I was getting at. —MakeShift (talk page) 08:55, December 27, 2019 (UTC)
How do you mean? Like adding a mention that they were credited in the closing, rather than the opening? If that, then nah that's a bit too trivial. —MakeShift (talk page) 21:44, December 29, 2019 (UTC)

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking for. I would direct you to Category:Specials. Also Template:Specials. If this doesn't answer your question, please be more specific. Thanks, $ \int $ IHH dt    2:19, Feb 12, 2020 (UTC)

Still, I am confused. Partially because all of these specials already have a page for them except for the one that has yet to air. We typically wait until after the airing of the special to make a page for it. So that answers your question about that. Let's wait on the finale one until after it airs. Second, all of them already have pages so you would not need to create them... $ \int $ IHH dt    2:19, Feb 12, 2020 (UTC)
That's not what I'm confused about. I am confused about your inquiry. I don't know what you are wanting to do. Again, the upcoming special, we will wait on. Especially since we don't have a name for it yet. As for the previous specials, there are already pages for it. So what exactly are you wanting to do? $ \int $ IHH dt    2:19, Feb 12, 2020 (UTC)
That would be fine. Except there are already pages for the specials that have already aired. What specials are you referring to exactly? $ \int $ IHH dt    2:19, Feb 12, 2020 (UTC)
That's what I was trying to tell you. The specials already have pages. You can find them in Category:Specials like I initially encouraged you to look at. $ \int $ IHH dt    2:19, Feb 12, 2020 (UTC)

RE: S5 ep count error

TV guides, as far as I'm aware, are not an official source. Officially the episode is considered part of the season, but it is a special episode that is not numbered. —MakeShift (talk page) 05:22, January 20, 2020 (UTC)

The Futon Critic is reliable, but it's a hard line to draw honestly. Because it's for all intents and purposes a numerically disconnected episode, but just the 8th production-wise. If we have some better confirmation down the line it might help change the situation, but at the moment it seems best to keep it how it is. —MakeShift (talk page) 07:02, January 20, 2020 (UTC)
Again, it was the 8th production-wise, hence why Keto's script marked it as such. Again, if we need to rejig it in future we'll look at it when the time comes. —MakeShift (talk page) 00:11, January 21, 2020 (UTC)

Hey, as I'm sure you are well aware, credits and captions can often be misinformed. Therefore, the way that we display credits is based on character names. For example, if someone was credited as "Doctor" but their real name is "Bob Smith" we will use "Bob Smith" because that is actually what they were portraying. Hope this helps your understanding. $ \int $ IHH dt    2:19, Feb 12, 2020 (UTC)

Sorry to but in but I frequently edit in the credit names too so I’d like to say why we do it, it tells us to in the Manual of Style: “However, if a character name is given alongside the actor's (such as in the co-starring bill), then this must be how they are listed in the cast section; though, any appropriate page links can still be integrated.”Schroeswald (talk) 16:29, January 29, 2020 (UTC)

Cast sections

Just a heads up for cast sections, please only add cast to an upcoming episode's cast section if they've been confirmed (which you should also source); this includes for how they're credited, like special guest stars (as we usually don't have any confirmation that this credit will be used until the episode itself). —MakeShift (talk page) 02:19, February 12, 2020 (UTC)
