Van Helsing is a fictional character in Bram Stoker's novel Dracula.
Overview
Featured in Bram Stoker's Dracula, Van Helsing is a vampire hunter character staple and an enemy of Count Dracula.
Sara Lance, while Legends were visiting 1895 to fight a presumed vampire, compared Mick Rory to Van Helsing, after it become evident that he wields garlic to fight vampires. Nate Heywood promptly recognized this as a reference to Stoker's novel.[1]

- Historically, Abraham Van Helsing is a character from Bram Stoker's Dracula, who is usually viewed as the latter's arch-nemesis. Although not always adapted with the same name, surname Van Helsing appears often in regards of vampire hunters.
- In the DC comics there were several variations of Van Helsing most current one being a villain in I, Vampire comic book.
- Sara Lance naming Mick Rory as "Van Helsing" is ironic, considering that Dominic Purcell, who portrays Rory portrayed Dracula in Blade: Trinity.
