Vanessa Jansen, nicknamed Block by Cisco Ramon was a Meta-human weapons dealer working for the East Street Skulls gang.
Biography
Early life
Vanessa Jansen was working with the East Street Skulls gang before being betrayed, therefore being arrested and sent to Iron Heights for four years.
Out of prison
When Jansen got out of Iron Heights, either by escape or release, she takes revenge on Bobby Moretti and kills him with her meta-human power as she planned to rob a warehouse full of guns and sell them. However, the buyer who arrived was Bobby's older brother, Bruno Moretti and he attempted to kill her only for Jansen to save herself with her powers. She then tries to kill him but is stopped by XS who saves Moretti. XS then tries to capture her but Jansen traps her in a block of dense air causing the Flash to come out and confront her. Jansen throws XS into the air and the Flash runs after her allowing Jansen to escape. Jansen attempts to sell the weapons again and is once again confronted by Moretti who arrived with backup to kill her if she didn't return the guns. They open fire on her but she saves herself. Powers and abilities
Powers
- Meta-human physiology: Through unknown means, Jansen's DNA was altered and her cells supercharged, turning her into a meta-human and thereby allowing her to access her powers.
- Force-field generation: Jansen has the power to create box-like force-fields around herself and/or others from the air molecules around her, compacting them. She can also manipulate the size of these force-fields, allowing her to crush her victims to death, leaving their entire body compressed into a small cube that, initially, may easily be mistaken for a chunk of human flesh. She can also use this ability to protect herself from gunfire.[1]
Weaknesses
- Power-dampening tech: Like other meta-humans, Jansen's powers can be negated if she's wearing power-dampening cuffs. In addition, once a meta-dampener has affected her, any force-fields she's created will vanish.[1]
