Plot[]
One week after Thawne and the Negative Forces’ defeat, Barry and Iris continue on with their lives. Iris returns to work where Allegra Garcia informs Iris that Central City Media is being bought by Cat Grant while Barry is recommended as the new director of the Central City Police Department (CCPD) by Kramer before confronting a new Captain Boomerang/Owen Mercer who has robbed a Roemer Accelerator from Kord Industries. When Barry came in contact with the accelerator, it puts Barry and Iris in a time loop. Barry tells Iris that he has a made a book containing the events of their future. Chuck learns that they are able to reverse the effect by analyzing the accelerator’s power source - a quantum based micro circuitry battery. On the seventeenth loop, Iris decides to stay in the loop as Barry figures out that Iris declined Cat’s offer which is the reason why they are stuck in the loop. After an argument, Barry goes to Joe and Cecile where they give advice to Barry that the future is something you create and not follow accordingly prompting Barry to burn his book. On the final loop, Iris and Barry accept their offers from Cat and Kramer while spending as much freedom they have left. Just as Barry and Iris defeat Mercer, Mercer teleports away with the battery and Barry uses his phasing ability to stop the accelerator from erasing the city. In the aftermath, the team figure out Mercer is working for someone else. Cecile masters her powers with Joe who wants to leave Central City. Barry gets a call from Caitlin who says she’s neither Caitlin nor Frost. Mercer is revealed to be working for a speedster with a Batman emblem.

Trivia[]
- This is the first episode:
- To be presented in letterbox format.
- To credit Jon Cor (Mark Blaine) as a series regular.
- Since "All's Wells That Ends Wells" to have an opening recap.
- This is also the last episode to have an opening recap.
- In addition to referencing the time loop aspect, the title of the episode remarks on the day of the week that The Flash's Season 9 episodes aired.
- This is the second time that Joseph Monteleone/Tar Pit appeared in the series since his first appearance in the Season 2 episode, "Fast Lane". However, he was recast, now being played by Josh Chambers instead of Marco Grazzini. Coincidentally, this episode aired almost exactly 7 years after "Fast Lane", then on Feb. 2, 2016.
- Cat Grant wanted to incorporate Central City Citizen Media into CatCo, in order to help it grow, offering a blank check to Iris. This fact alone showed Cat respected Iris as a fellow woman who founded her own enterprise.
- This episode shares several similarities to Arrow Season 8 episode "Reset".
- This is the fourth time in the Arrowverse that someone has been stuck in a time loop with Zari being the first in the DC's Legends of Tomorrow episode "Here I Go Again", Nora West-Allen being the second in The Flash episode "Cause and XS", and Oliver Queen being the third in the Arrow episode "Reset".
- Like in many of these episodes (such as "Reset" and "Here I Go Again"), Cecile is quick to liken the happenings of the episode to the Bill Murray Movie "Groundhog Day".

Goofs[]
- This episode takes place on February 1st. It was stated in "The Fire Next Time" that this is Henry Allen's birthday, yet nobody mentions it. Furthermore, as stated by Barry, this episode takes place a week after "Negative, Part Two", which would place that episode on January 25, 2023. However, it was stated many times in that episode and the preceding one (which takes place immediately beforehand) that the year was 2022.
- Barry burning the map book shouldn't have been permanent. The book should have been restored along with everything else in the time loop.
- Starting in this episode, the season's title sequence includes a flipped clip of Barry running, causing his lightning emblem to be the wrong way.
